Thursday 27/03/2008. OK bit busy this week, but to keep the tips going, Crusaders over the Hurricanes, surely the Waratahs will beat the Cheetahs, the Force should get the Stormers, the Chiefs over the Highlanders, the Blues over the hapless Bulls, and the Sharks to deal with the Reds. I will probably tip the Reds next week punters! ADDED SUNDAY 30/03/2008 Well I thought the footy was pretty ordinary this weekend. Crusaders and Hurricanes just kept me interested, Those Waratahs, well I just went to bed about 30 minutes in, really can these blokes catch and pass? Lote "do whatever you want to" Tuqiri featured with a stupid pass in field, that was close to bed time. A counterpart that watched the Force vs Stormers game said the Force were equally poor, got smashed at the breakdown and struggled to catch. I gave the Chiefs vs Highlanders a miss as another possible mistake fest, sat through the Blues vs Bulls, not sure what has happened to the Blues, wheels not off yet but someone needs to check the wheel nuts before they do fall off. Thought the Bulls were unlucky to lose in another messy match. Who would have thought that 8 or 10 weeks ago I would be talking about the Reds playing the match of the round. They showed good skill level in the face of tremendous physical onslaught, the offload is starting to work, they are playing off some nice quick set ball and moving the point of attack around nicely. A couple of the Sharks tries were probably dodgy but the bad play of the match was the Morgan Turinui read in defence when Rory Kocket busted them wide on the right and the move finished in a try. Those that were saying Latham didn't care a few weeks ago should go straight to he wash basin and clean your mouths out with plenty of soap and a little water. Most importantly the Reds gutsed this one out, a year ago the Eddie Jones coached rabble would have given up 30 or 40 points in that last 20 minutes, but the current crop dug deep and I think actually finished over the top of the very physical Sharks. Plenty of glory in that loss and plenty of positive stuff. I'll be tipping them to win next week!
