THE SUPER 14 FINAL,  2008

ADDED SUNDAY 01/06/2008

Super 14 rugby 2008 has come and gone,  it seems like only yesterday we were anticipating it getting underway.  The result seems to be the same every year,  I have to try to remember when they didn't win.

They are everything I like in a footy side,  ruthless,  relentless,  and perform the basics very well at pace,  and under fatigue,  they just have an ability to ramp up the pressure when the opposition is starting to tire or falter.

NSW certainly stuck it to them though,  just couldn't finish the job.  In that last 15 minutes when the Crusaders really whipped up the pressure via linespeed and breakdown counter,  the Waratahs did fold a little bit.

My best for the Tahs were Palu,  Elsom and Tuqiri.  Palu was simply breathtaking and was one Tah who turned up the heat at the end,  under fatigue.  Tuqiri played on of the best games Ihave possibly seen him play.  Very direct  and dominant in defence,  some really good ball carries.

Every side should look for that hard edge,  that relentless approach that Deans has developed,  that ability to squeeze the life out of oppositions,  and the ability to turn the heat up in that championship period in the last 20.

Man am I looking forward to Deans taking charge of the Wallabies!
